CO2 Vaporisers
The heat necessary to evaporate liquid CO2 is supplied by the air flowing through the plate fin block – this solution contributes to energy consumption reduction by approx. 90%-95% in comparison to traditional electric evaporators.
If the ambient temperature is insufficient (minimum +5°C), the evaporator may be equipped with an integrated water or steam heater.
All our evaporators are delivered fully equipped, ready to be installed in CO2 systems.
Their standard equipment includes:
– heat exchanger in acid-resistant steel casing
– fans – installed and wired
– supply-control electric cabinet
– electronic controller managing the operation of the device
– two safety valves
– filter to be installed within the system before the evaporator
– flanges and screw connections for the evaporator installation within the system
The electronic controller used in our devices is instrumental in automating evaporator operation. Control is based on temperature measurements at characteristic places within the evaporator; at times pressure is measured as well. The controller is responsible for, among others, working cycles of particular exchanger sections; it activates and deactivates CO2 flow and vents; it protects the installation behind the evaporator against damage caused by overflowing of the evaporator with liquid CO2 (e.g. as a result of a sudden surge in CO2 intake). The controller also handles activation and deactivation of the optional inbuilt heater when the ambient temperature drops below the value sufficient to evaporate the liquid within the exchanger. The controller may also feature a function of protecting the CO2 tank and the system on the evaporator inlet from unwanted CO2 crystallisation – dry ice.
The evaporator may be switched on/off locally – with the switch installed in the electric cabinet – or remotely, using an external relay operated manually or automatically.
Our evaporators undergo constant development, hence all the data presented on our website and in catalogues are subject to changes.
